Yes, it’s that time of year when Santa and his elves are very hard at work preparing for the big day on 25th December! Here at Rufford Abbey Country Park Santa and his elves have lost all their decorations on the way from the South Pole to the North Pole and need your help to find them! The leaflet for the trail is £1 and can be purchased from the Abbey end of Rufford Country Park in the Tourist Information Centre based in the Courtyard which is delightfully decorated with wicker stars, lights and a Christmas tree! Follow the trail from the South Pole through to the woods and down by the lake until you find the North Pole where you can retrieve your treat.
If you visit on a weekend or Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd December, you will find Santa in his Victorian style grotto in the Mill cottage where for £5 per child you will receive a gift too! Please note, at weekends there is a £3 car parking charge.
Sunday 7th December from 2-4pm Sempre will be presenting seasonal music from favourite shows in the Coach House Courtyard.
Sunday14th December between 2-4pm in the same Courtyard Lady Luck will be performing – this is a small ladies barbershop singing group who also sing with the much larger City Chorus. Their rendition of seasonal song will be music to your ears!
Saturday 20th December, Steel Pantastic will be performing between 1-3pm. So come and enjoy the happy music of this steel band, all are members of the University of the Third Age (U3A). This band has been playing together for 3 years and their repertoire includes all kinds of tunes from carols to the Caribbean!
Sunday 21st December between 2-4pm again in the Coach House Courtyard QM Barbershop Quartet who are a male barbershop quartet and also sing with the Major Oak Chorus.
Sunday 21st December between 2-4 next to Santa’s Grotto, Jolly Jingles who will be demonstrating the delicate art of balloon modelling, whilst you are waiting to see Santa himself!
